RVin’ in Alaska

I’ve wanted to go to Alaska since one of my buddies shared his summer deep-sea fishing boat work experiences while we were in college.  The vast expansive wildlife and wilderness peaked my interest and Márcia needed little convincing to extend this trip through the end of the summer to have some time for an expedition in the 49th state.  After doing some initial research, we quickly learned that Alaska is bigger and more expensive than we thought.  We determined getting the best bang for our buck would be to rent an RV and travel around the gigantic state’s highways.  We found the cheapest “C” class house on wheels we could find to rent and were happy to get on the road.  We felt right at home in our “mini” 22 foot cruiser that came equipped with a queen size bed, fold out sofa, kitchen table, full bathroom, and fully equipped kitchen.  More than all the comforts we need and nicer than many hostels we’ve stayed in.  We’re ready for the month ahead to explore “The Last Frontier”.

Primeiro pensamento que vem a cabeça é: Alasca… uauu, que frio, esquimos, ursos polares. Bryan sempre quis vir visitar o 49 estado dos Estados Unidos, e depois de ler sobre as mais belas e altas montanhas da América do Norte, não teve como rejeitar a proposta. Sim, ao invés de voltar para Kansas City, já estamos em Anchorage, AK. Chegamos no aeroporto e muitos casais (mais de idade) voltando para casa com caixas e caixas de peixe congelado. Temperatura super agradável, em torno dos 20-22C. Poderíamos ter acampado, mas como agora é verão e chove muito, a forma mais viável e barata de viajar por aqui e alugar uma Motorhome. Oportunidade uuunica!!! Yellowstone tem 7 metros de comprimento. Aqui dormem até quatro pessoas, temos uma cama de casal (que fica em cima dos assentos- passageiro e motorista), um sofa-cama, uma cozinha, com fogão, pia, geladeira e banheiro até com banheira. Sem falar no gerador que quebra um galho para carregarmos os eletrônicos. A sensação de estar em casa e sair dirigindo é inexplicável. Estar aqui por um mês sem dúvidas, será mais que inesquecível.
