Day 363: How much is that?

USA

Millionaire yacht parking lot

We worked hard, saved hard, and then tried to stretch our money as far as it would go while we were abroad.  Normally, we’re pretty scrupulous spenders but to stay within our budget, we took our expense tracking to the extreme and cut corners where we could.  After we left budget-friendly Central America, we were welcomed to the US by the first world prices that we had forgotten about.  It didn’t take long to realize how much money is floating around ritzy Miami either.  The Ferrari’s cruising by, the luxurious high rises along the water, and the million dollar yachts parked out front are reminders why the city is not generally considered a backpacker mecca.  Thankfully, we have complimentary “dorm” room accommodations at Rose’s apartment where we’ve settled in and feel right at home.
