The official entrance to historic, downtown Cartagena is through the impressive Puerta del Reloj, or the Clock Tower Gate. It leads to the old city which is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved historic sites in the Caribbean and the top attraction for most visitors. Of the three gates, only the central one was used in times past while the other two were occupied by an arms room and a chapel. Today, all three are filled by hippies and street vendors selling books, handicraft, and other items of interest to passers-by.
Na cidade antiga, a atração principal é a Torre do Relógio. Única porta ainda existente que dava acesso adentro a grande muralha. Foi aqui que passaram muitos escravos e muitos senhores há tempos atrás. Hoje em dia o turismo é quem toma conta do local, e os melhores doces caseiros da cidade e que você só encontra por aqui. São vários bares, restaurantes, museus e igrejas também. Nos lembrou muito o pelorinho brasileiro, pela forte energia. É possível andar por várias partes das muralhas pois a mesma ainda envolve o centro e assistir ao pôr do sol, com certeza será uma das nossas favoritas atrações todos os dias.
