The mild climate and plentiful days of sunshine make Port Elizabeth and the surrounding region an excellent place to be active. Just walking along the boardwalk and piers, we’ve seen dozens of people swimming laps in the ocean water, playing pickup games of soccer, and running in the sand. Another activity those visiting seem to enjoy is simply standing on the beach. It’s been funny for us to see stretches of empty sands and then walk up to a section that is absolutely packed. We imagine there’s good reason for the seemingly tight quarters for everyone. Our guess is that having a “herd” bunched together makes it easier for the lifeguards to keep watch. From afar, it’s amusing to see everyone in the same “sandbox”.
Essa região é excelente para a prática de esportes, e já vimos vários nadadores praticando suas habilidades. Como dá pra perceber na foto, não precisa ser atleta pra cair na água e se divertir. Começo de ano, pessoal de férias, sem escola, todo mundo vai pra praia mesmo. Aqui não é Praia Grande, SP, mas a farofa corre solta. Mais engraçado de tudo é que eles ficam todos juntos, a praia enorme e todos unidos no mesmo formigueiro. A única lógica que vem na nossa cabeça, do por que eles ficam todos juntos, deve ser porque existem áreas que são apropriadas para nadar, que não tem pedras, nem tubarões e o salva-vidas esta por perto. Ou realmente eles são muito amigos mesmo : ))
