Day 30: The Filipino Look

We know it’s time for me to get a haircut when “people” let me know that it’s looking “puffy”.  I figured that it would be better to wait until we made it to the Philippines because with the possibility of a bad haircut, at least it would be a cheap bad haircut.  We found a small barber shop on the main street in Puerto Princesa that had a lot of movement and the price was right at 49 PHP ($1.20) a cut.  I sat down and told the barber to fix me up like a Filipino and he got to work.  After starting with the clippers he pulled out his giant scissors and did his best Edward Scissorhand’s impression with the rapid moving blades.  It was fast and furious and he was done in less than 10 minutes using a scissor technique he had perfected.  After getting a grateful handshake, he was happy to take this picture with me and I was happy to get rid of the “puff”…

O bom de ser homem e que em qualquer lugar é possível ficar no estilo… Bryan estava precisando de um corte de cabelo e nada melhor do que Eduard Mãos de Tesoura Salon. O pequenino salão localizado na rua principal de Puerto Princesa, com quatro barbeiros, oferece cortes pela barganha de apenas PHp 49 (R$ 2.40). Sem fila de espera, pensamos que o corte começaria primeiro colocando um pedaço de papel higiênico no pescoço, antes da capa para proteção. Ai vem a maquininha em ação e DE REPENTE: o barbeiro tira uma tesoura gigante da gaveta e aí sim o corte começa!!! Bryan não podia nem sequer piscar para não mexer a cabeca e não perder a orelha… Em menos de 10 minutos os cabelos lindos e loiros estavam ali no chão, misturado com os outros cabelos castanhos (repare na foto, como o lugar era limpo kkk). E não é que ficou lindo!!! Um gatão!!!
