Day 346: Don’t we know you?

The infamous “Gringo Trail” includes the most popular destinations in Latin America and attracts millions of tourists every year searching for some “flava’”.  Impressive and special can’t-misses as well as overly developed and touristy must-avoids dot the countries throughout the region.  Since the area is compact and most people head in one direction, it’s not uncommon, and probably the norm, to run into the same travelers multiple times.  We first met a nice Swiss couple in Colombia before we set sail on our boat trip to Panama and ran into them a few other times after getting into Central America.  Then there is a South African couple that were deck mates with us on the boat who we crossed paths with again in Costa Rica and Nicaragua.  We stayed at the same hostel as the friendly Englishman Kevin on our last stop in Nicaragua and ran into him again in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Mexico.  Aside from seeing a familiar face, it’s nice to share experiences, ideas, and get tips on places to visit or skip.  It really is a small world in Central America and we hope to see all our friends on the road again some day.

Mais legal do que vermos ruínas, é  rever os amigos. Quase 12 meses viajando e já perdemos a conta de quanto amigos queridos já fizemos. Engraçado que os que temos maior afinidade, sempre temos a oportunidade de encontrar de novo e tomar uma cervejinha juntos. Além das trocas de informações é super legal saber das experiências, já que estamos no mesmo barco de mochileiros. Praticamente no mesmo caminho, esse é Kevin, nosso amigo inglês. Nos conhecemos em Nicarágua. E não sei se é ele que nos segue, ou se somos nós, mas já nos econtramos de novo em El Salvador, Guatemala, México e será demais a  próxima vez.  E detalhe que Kevin é só um dos muitos amigos ao longo do caminho. Um casal da África do Sul, outro da Suiça, dois rapazes da Holanda, e assim vai…  Eita mundo centro américano pequeno demais. Feliz Viaje Amigos!!!
