Day 230: A walk back in time

Pueblito Paisa is a reconstruction of a typical village from the early 20th century and is a nice place to imagine about the past.  It sits top of a hill in the middle of Medellín so after walking up the short climb, visitors can enjoy pleasant panoramic views of the city.  The replica comes complete with a traditional stone fountain in the middle of the square and is surrounded by the church, mayor’s office, barber shop, and a one-room school-house.  It’s become an icon to the people from the state of Antioquia and is a fun way to get a bird’s eye view of the city and surrounding mountains and valleys, as well as get away from the bustling city below.

Hoje fomos visitar o Pueblito Paisa. Uma representação típica do povo Antioquia no início do século XX. Subimos a pequena montanha com apenas 80 metros de altura, bem no meio da cidade. A paisagem é linda ao redor dos grandes vales. No Cerro Nutibara é onde fica uma pequena igreja com telhados de barro, uma escola, uma prefeitura, barbearia, farmácia, e algumas casinhas ao redor da fonte do amor. Tudo no estilo colonial, mantendo a história do local.
