We’ve observed that the dogs in the Philippines have a different lifestyle than what we saw in Japan. They seem to be a little (lot) more independent here and do not have the luxury of someone wiping their behinds. Oftentimes they determine the best place to lay down or take a nap is in the middle of the highway with high speed vans and tricycles passing by. It’s like a game of chicken and they seem to be indifferent with the potential deadly outcome. There are seven dogs at our cottage that patrol the place like they are on the payroll. They are ever on the watch and let everyone know if someone or something seems a little off in the territory. One of them tried to relieve himself on me when I was sitting on what must have been his beach chair… But life as a dog here isn’t all serious and the majority of their day is spent lounging around and trying to stay cool. They even appreciate the beautiful sunset after horsing around on the beach.
Diferente do Japão, aqui tem cachorro em todo lugar. Todos são bem tratados, com casa pra morar e boa comida pra comer. E nada de ficar só no quintal, aqui o acesso é livre pra todos. Na rodovia eles gostam de ficar tirando uma soneca só saem quando os carros/caminhões businam. Em frente a nossa pousada eles brincam o dia inteiro. Fazem amizade com os outros cachorros que estão passando, dão um mergulho juntos e até o belíssimo pôr do sol eles se divertem vendo juntos. Hoje estavamos sentados nas cadeiras que ficam em frente a nossa pousada e de repente, um deles, veio correndo, todo molhado e queria brincar com Bryan. Sem ter muita atenção, não pensou duas vezes, levantou a perninha e já ia fazer um xixizinho na perna do Bryan. Mas não conseguiu… Anoite são eles que protegem a pousada e se alguém diferente tenta entrar eles vão pra cima mesmo. Estamos bem protegidos pelo melhor amigo do homem.
