Our pace in Fukuoka has slowed down a bit and it’s been nice to take things in a at a more relaxed speed. It’s modern, has lots of shopping and restaurants, and is one of the world’s most livable cities. For centuries it has been the gateway to the rest of Asia (and the world) because of it’s location and is said to be the oldest towns in Japan. After walking around on the island that sits in the city’s Hakata Bay, we passed this huge Ferris Wheel that is actually part of a large outlet mall. We didn’t go for a ride but the view from the side was pleasant enough for us.
Nosso ritmo em Fukuoka está bem tranquilo, e já conseguimos descansar nossas pernas, depois de muitas caminhadas nas cidades anteriores. Moderna, com muitos restaurantes e shoppings, a cidade é conhecida pelas compras além de ser a cidade mais antiga do Japão. Durante séculos tem sido a porta de entrada para o resto da Ásia por causa de sua localização. Depois de caminharmos na ilha que fica ao redor da baia de Hakata, passamos por esta enorme roda-gigante que é, na verdade, parte de um grande shopping center. Infelizmente não demos uma volta, mas a vista foi romântica o suficiente para vermos o sol se pôr.
